href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/robert-f-kennedy-jr\/t-73596464\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert F Kennedy Jr<\/a> that doctors in Germany have faced legal action for issuing vaccine and mask exemptions during the <a lang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/coronavirus-latest\/t-52104885\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coronavirus<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy, <a lang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/donald-trump-selects-rfk-jr-to-lead-top-us-health-agency\/a-70784392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a known vaccine skeptic,<\/a> posted a video on X on Saturday in which he says: \u201cI\u2019ve learned that more than a thousand German physicians, and thousands of their patients, now face prosecution and punishment for issuing exemptions from wearing masks or getting <a lang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/covid-19\/t-62123668\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19<\/a> vaccines during the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the post, Kennedy said he had written a letter to the German minister asking her \u201cto restore medical autonomy\u201d and \u201cend politically motivated prosecutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy did not provide any sources for his claims and misspelled Warken\u2019s name as \u201cWorkin.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Warken fires back<\/h2>\n<p>In a statement released on Saturday evening, Warken, a member of the center-right <a target=\"_blank\" lang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/christian-democratic-union-cdu\/t-17351950\">Christian Democratic Union (CDU)<\/a>, described Kennedy\u2019s assertions as \u201clacking any basis\u201d and \u201cfactually incorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can happily explain this to him personally,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt no time during the coronavirus pandemic was there any obligation for doctors to carry out vaccines against COVID-19,\u201d Warken said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyone who did not wish to offer vaccines for medical, ethical or personal
