\u00ab Experts are issuing the familiar summer caution \u2014 that we might be enjoying a seasonal break in the COVID battle and that cases are expected to rise in the fall when schools are back in session and cooler weather has people spending more time indoors.<\/p>\n

They note, too, that while COVID hospitalizations have dropped, cases are still higher than during the first two summers of the pandemic.<\/p>\n

According to recent national data, 1,659 patients were hospitalized with the virus as of July 11. That compares with 810 on July 4, 2021, and 645 on July 4, 2020. \u00bb<\/p>\n
